GoWEDay-VR Hits GitHub With Eight Builds Across Two Days

After an Oct 18 trailer with no download, Paul Taran's UEVR campaign mod shipped Oct 31; eight early-access zips landed by Nov 1, latest v0.1.7.

Our Oct 19 trailer story had no download link. On October 31, Paul Taran (paultaran00) posted GoWEDay-VR v0.1.0. Seven more early-access builds landed through November 1, ending at v0.1.7. GitHub listed eight releases and 259 zip downloads when we checked Nov 2.

On Oct 18, the same creator's X post promised the mod "Free at release." The Ko-fi link on every GitHub release still points to rockonthehill.

I haven't played the zips. This is based on the GitHub releases, README, and the Oct 18 trailer.

What you get

GoWEDay-VR is a free campaign-only first-person VR layer for Gears of War: E-Day on PC, built on a patched UEVR build. The launcher starts the game offline without Easy Anti-Cheat; release notes repeat that multiplayer is unsupported and modded online play can risk a ban.

The README documents physical reloads from a chest rig, two-handed grips, hip and shoulder holsters, manual Gnasher pumps, chainsaw-lever starts, thrown grenades, and mounted guns. That matches rockonthehill's Oct 18 trailer pitch:

Full VR for the entire campaign: stereo rendering, full-body IK, manual reloads, two-handed aiming and more. Early WIP build. Free at release.

The zip adds GoWEDay_VR.exe, in-headset VR SETTINGS, and a full control guide. Every release is marked prerelease; expect bugs.

Eight builds in two days
