Modder RippeR37 published the first public beta of Metro Exodus VR on Friday, Nov 6, 2026 as v0.9.0 on GitHub. The free mod turns 4A Games' 2019 shooter into room-scale PCVR with motion-controlled weapons, body-worn gear and manual reloads.
It sits in the same wave as Dead Space 2 VR, Alan Wake VR and Titanfall 2 VR. Our flat-to-VR guide explains how these conversions hook into older engines.
I haven't played it. This is based on RippeR37's GitHub README and v0.9.0 release notes, UnflatVR's listing, review clips posted Nov 6 and JShodanVR's post on X.
What the beta covers
The README describes a full flat-to-PCVR conversion: stereo and optimized AER/AFW rendering, DLAA/DLSS up to 4.5, FSR2, foveated upscaling and rendering, left-handed support and experimental bHaptics. Weapons use custom animations for manual handling and reloads. The mod can auto-update from GitHub releases.
v0.9.0 is narrower. Release notes say Standard Edition only, Steam build v1.0.0.7 and main campaign only. DLC is planned for later. Enhanced Edition support is undecided. Epic and GOG builds are work in progress.
Equipment lives on your body. The README says you put on the gas mask, swap filters and use medkits through VR interactions, with binding hints under VR HINTS in the pause menu.
UnflatVR grades it B (83/100) with Full Motion and an Experimental label. Reviewers including GamertagVR, Headset-VR, VR DaD and others posted fresh gameplay the same day on UnflatVR's listing.
