natpoh's free D2R VR Authentic mod shipped three Diablo II: Resurrected PC VR builds on Nov 5, 2026. v0.203.0 (8:47 AM), v0.204.0 (1:16 PM), and v0.205.0 (2:09 PM EST) drop ReShade for in-mod sky and fog, tighten F4 melee, and add optional crash dumps; run 0.205.0.
The project is a flat-to-VR pass on Blizzard's remaster, not a native VR title. We sketched the four-view idea in New Eyes on Old Worlds; this post tracks today's installer releases only.
I haven't played it. This is based on GitHub release notes, the README, the BodyWalk product page, and BodyWalkVR's video above.
0.203 drops ReShade
v0.203.0 removes ReShade from the mod path. The release notes open:
No more ReShade - D2R VR draws its sky, fog and cave ceiling itself
The mod no longer loads ReShade and does not touch a player's own ReShade install, the notes say. That change targets title-screen freezes while ReShade rebuilt sky and fog effects. F9–F12 now belong to the mod only; older builds had F11 / F12 also toggling the game's Show Party overlay. Co-op hosts pick whether a two-handed swing hits every monster the blade touches, with one rule for the whole session.
0.204 quick blow
v0.204.0 turns Quick blow on by default in F4 first person. The notes say the blow lands on the first frame of the attack, about 40 ms after the blade touches a monster, instead of a quarter to half second later. Your hero keeps walking through the swing. Skills, mana, hit rolls, block and damage stay the game's; the touched monster counts as in reach so distance does not register as a miss.
On X, @bodywalkvr summarized 0.204 as melee that lands at once without freezing the hero, plus the no-ReShade renderer, ragdoll deaths, point-to-pickup, save backups, and opt-in crash reports.
Two-handed swords and axes still cleave on one swing: the first target gets quick blow, later targets use direct hit as before. The headset Melee page swaps Direct hit by the rules for a Quick blow switch; the host's setting applies to everyone in co-op.
0.205 crash dumps
v0.205.0 keeps 0.204 gameplay and adds diagnostics to crash reports. The notes say a submitted crash report now carries a small dump by default (call stacks and loaded modules, not game memory or personal data), with an opt-out in the report window.
Every player in a co-op session needs matching builds; all three releases ask groups to update together.
Four views and requirements
Since 0.170, D2R VR Authentic is a D2RLoader mod under mods\D2R-VR, started with D2RLoader.exe -mod D2R-VR or the installer's D2R VR Authentic shortcut (d2r-vr-launcher helper). The README binds four views to F1–F4; F12 cycles them (F1 classic 3D, F2 third person, F3 diorama, F4 first-person arms). SETTINGS.md defaults Native OpenXR in the headset (the game itself in VR, no FlatVR needed). Optional FlatVR stereo paths are a separate choice; START on the native default stops FlatVR and leaves BodyWalk running. Controls without BodyWalk reads OpenXR controllers without starting BodyWalk.
The README warns offline single-player only for injected code and Battle.net bans; release notes still support co-op when everyone runs the same mod version through D2RLoader (TCP/IP via the loader, not official Battle.net). You need a legitimate PC copy on Steam or Battle.net, Windows 10/11 x64, and PC VR with an OpenXR runtime. The MIT-licensed repo ships no game files.
